The vivid combo of tacky '70s fashions and drive-by mayhem that made the N64 version a hit crosses over to Game Boy Color. Arcade mode gives you a choice of five picturesque venues: Valley Farms, Oil Fields, Ski Resort, Hoover Dam and Casino City. The story mode, dubbed Road Trip, takes your through all five battlegrounds. Timed Attack lets you destroy as many vehicles as possible in a match lasting one minute to one hour. In Progressive mode, once you've whacked a set number of rivals, you proceed to a new venue. There are three difficulty levels. Each vehicle has the same five standard weapons and one unique weapon. As with the N64 version, V8GBC sets six Vigilantes against six Coyotes. Astonishingly, developer Vicarious Visions managed to cram in distinct voice samples for all 12 drivers. The Rumble enhancement lets you shake, rattle 'n' roll to the disco beats. You can play any of the modes in cooperative or head-to-head move with a friend via the Game Link Cable.
