Reviews of Sorcerer's Kingdom
Sorcerers Kingdom is one of the better RPGs for
the Genesis, but for some reason it remains
unappreciated. I am currently re-playing this
title and am even more impressed with its solid
gameplay and innovative character improvement
The storyline is actually rather strong for an
early 90's console RPG; I imagine this
cart was largely a response to the flood of wildly
successful SNES RPG's flooding the market at the
time. As such, it is solidly programmed and very
fun to play; you'll never have so much fun earning
new weapons and armors, and then earning and training your characters however you choose.
All of those little details make up for what is
really a linear game environment; the challenge
is all in building up your characters. But I
am the sort who spends more time in the sub-menu
when I RPG anyway, so I love this game!
I strongly advise you retro gamers to check this game out. In fact, I can say with confidence that
if you had this game, all 3 Phantasy Stars, and
Shining Force, you would own the top 5 Genesis
RPGs, and have many hours of fun playing and
re-playing them for years (as I have).
